Hulu is a website backed by NBC Universal and News Corp. According to Hulu.com, they have over 900 current primetime TV hits on the site. You can watch any of the shows for free. They still have commercials, but fewer than if you watched the shows on regular television. ...
It's a shame the cable companies won't let you pick and choose what channels you want. I know my hubby likes to "channel surf" but other than that and the kids watching just the cartoon channels, the rest really can be watched online for free & then all you're paying for is the internet. For instance, I watch a week's worth of Days of Our Lives on Youtube on the weekends on my laptop. (Yes, you can watch them on NBC but I find the buffering annoying.) As for the channel surfing, we've been talking about setting up a computer as a media center & Windows Media center picks up all the free tv streaming. Most flat panel tv's now have a way to connect computers to them. Hopefully we can cut out the cable bill soon!
Here's a handy FireFox add-on for YouTube!
